FOUNDATION FOR THE ELDERLY AND LESS PRIVILEGE IN CAMEROON
Foundation for the elderly and less privilege (FELP) is an affiliated partner of PERSPECTIVES KAMERUN e.V. since the year 2017. The Foundation for the elderly and less privileged (FELP) has been operating some years back as an Association but was later upgraded as a private social welfare institution (PSWI) precisely on the 26th of August 2016 with Ref No 2016/102/L/MINAS/DEAS – SO/DDAS – FK/SC – TK in the South West Region of Cameroon, with Mr. Nkwinkeh Tanu Hilary as the founder and Director. It started with just 13 members and can now be proud of about 42 registered Elderly members with many inspiring to register.
HISTORY OF THE INSTITUTION
The idea of (FELP) the foundation for the elderly and less privileged was conceived by MR. NKWINKEH TANU HILARY after his son was involved in a fatal accident that led to the amputation of his leg. This pushed him to put others in the same position with his son who has no material and financial means to handle the situation, and so developed that interest to provide support to such persons. He also carried out a census around Likomba to discover that most parents who are retried need additional support to the health benefits and pension they are receiving from C.D.C as retired general labourers. Most of these retired workers have large family that their income could not support while they were at work and these same families can not provide them with the means when they also have major health problems. MR. NKWINKEH developed the vision to assist such families medically as well provide a small health unit for Likomba which is still lacking one despite its increasing population.
FELP is located at quarter 9 Likomba. It is found about 500ms after Likomba Bridge on the left side of the market before Tiko Mayor´s residence of the year 2017 legislation periond .

PROBLEMS FACED AND HOW YOU CAN HELP US
Lacks enough finance to handle serious elderly cases. Lacks finance to feed elderly persons with medical problems that need to be taken care of. Limited funds to pay for the rented apartment. The staffing situation is low because the promoter does virtually everything alone and lacks money to pay salaries of more than 4 staff. We are calling on you to assist us both financial, Medications and equiptments. Contact us or Perspectives Kamerun e.V. directly. The contact information can be seen on this website.
ANALYSIS AND CONCLUSION
FELP is not only a big support to the elderly persons but also to the less privileged. He provides both medical and psychological support to such group of persons especially within Likomba that has no health unit. A private sponsored initiative like this, meant to give a helping hand to the government in the health domain and also to protect the rights of the elderly persons should be encouraged. It is in this light that I strongly recommend that the foundation for the elderly and the less privileged (FELP) should be given and authorization to operate officially.
